Garfield County fills Planning Commission seat

Two at-large seats still available on county’s Board of Adjustment

PRESS RELEASE
July 3, 2024

Garfield County has appointed Wes Miller to its Planning Commission for a term running through Dec. 31, 2025. Three candidates applied for the vacant associate seat, including Klayton Costanzo, Luke Gosda, and Miller.

“We have three really good candidates,” said Commissioner Mike Samson. “All three would do a really great job and I don’t think we could go wrong with any of them here.”

The planning commission is a decision-making body that primarily provides recommendations to the BOCC on land-use matters.

Gosda was subsequently appointed to the county’s Board of Adjustment, filling a vacant associate member at-large seat he had expressed interest in. His appointment runs through Dec. 31, 2027. Both appointments were approved unanimously by the Board of County Commissioners, 3-0.

There are two remaining vacancies on the Board of Adjustment, both of which are for at-large seats. The board of adjustment, which is a decision-making body, tasked with reviewing variance requests, along with appeals to administrative interpretations, meets on the fourth Monday of each month, on an as-needed basis, in Glenwood Springs at 6:30 p.m., and dinner is provided.

If interested in serving on the Board of Adjustment, please contact Garfield County Community Development Administrative Specialist Brooke Winschell at 970-945-1377, ext. 4212.
