County governance
Elected officials sworn-in
Garfield County re-elected and newly elected officials took their oaths of office January 14 to begin their new terms. Ninth Judicial District Chief Judge John Neiley presided over the oaths, which took place in the Garfield County Courthouse (Ninth Judicial District Attorney Ben Sollars, 9th Judicial District Court Judge Anne Norrdin, and Garfield County Court Judge Angela Roff) and in the Garfield County Administration Building (Garfield County Commissioners Mike Samson and Perry Will). Commissioner Samson begins his fifth term on the board and Commissioner Will takes the seat for his first term. Sollars replaces former District Attorney Jeff Cheney, who served eight years before being term limited.
