Veterans Resource Center openThe Jesse Beckius/Casey Owens Veterans Resource Center at 801 Colorado Avenue in Glenwood Springs is again open following an expansion of its offerings and grand reopening ceremony on June 13. From the office, the Western Slope Veterans Coalition (WSVC) provides a hub for information, programs and activities for local veterans. The WSVC’s mission is to improve the quality of life for service members, veterans and their families by connecting them with the resources they need.
Pruett appointed Garfield County VSO
Garfield County has appointed David Pruett as new veterans’ services officer for a two-year term. An honorably discharged Navy veteran (Navy Special Warfare), Pruett works as an appraiser in his hometown of Rifle and has volunteered in the past as a firefighter for the Rifle Fire Protection District, ski patrol at Sunlight Mountain Resort and Garfield County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue.
