Property tax payments
Colorado state statute provides for two options for property tax payments – one full payment or two half payments. Payments not received or postmarked by the below due dates are subject to interest at the rate of one percent per month.
Statutory due dates
Full payment – April 30
1st half – Last day of February
2nd half – June 15
Please note: Municipay (linked below) is the only third-party vendor authorized to process Garfield County property tax payments. Taxpayers are discouraged from using other third-party payment platforms (ex. Doxo, BillPay.com, or bill pay services from other financial institutions, etc.), as these may result in payments not being received or postmarked promptly, and remitters will incur additional interest that by statute cannot be waived by our office.
Pay online or by phone
To pay by interactive voice response (IVR) phone support, please call 970-645-7990 (English/Español).
Electronic payments will post by the close of the next business day. Do not make duplicate payments, doing so will incur processing fees that cannot be refunded. Important: Tax liens for prior years’ delinquent taxes can be paid online by credit card only.
Processing fees
eCheck – $2.00
Credit/debit card – 2.95% ($3.00 minimum)
**Manufactured/mobile homeowners – per recent legislature, you are not obligated to pay interest beyond May 31st. Online/IVR phone payments cannot be processed for the reduced interest amounts.
Payments by mail
Payments by check or money order can be mailed to P.O. Box 1069, Glenwood Springs, CO 81602. Be sure to have payments postmarked to ensure credit for timely payment.
