Event Details

The first public hearing will be for a text amendment request to amend the Garfield County Land Use and Development Code of 2013 as amended, including but not limited to Articles 3, 9, and 15, and other Articles of Land Use and Development Code as necessary to implement proposed Oil & Gas Regulations.

The second public hearing will be for Consideration of a Request for Major Impact Land Use Change Permit for a Gravel Operation on an approximately 58-acre property located north of Interstate 70, off County Road 346, also known as the CDOT I-70 Frontage Road. The site is approximately two miles west of the town of Silt, and four miles east of the city of Rifle, in Sections 8 & 17, T6S, R92W of the 6th pm.

The Garfield County Planning Commission is a decision-making body which primarily provides recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners on land use matters. Planning Commission meetings are streamed online, via Zoom,  for viewing during the meetings. The link to view will show on the Community Development home page when the meetings start.

The Garfield County Planning Commission holds its meetings on the second, and occasionally the fourth Wednesday of each month, on an as-needed basis. Occasionally, meetings are subjected to change, and that will be reflected on the Garfield County meetings page. Planning Commission meetings take place at 6:00 p.m.

Due, to the new COVID-19 policies and practices, these meetings are now conducted remotely, via Zoom, until further notice. Each remote meeting link will be provided on the Garfield County Community Development home page.
