Returns on investment

Garfield County continues to earn income on investments even in a relatively slower economy. The county has surpassed its 2023 interest income goal from investments and has earned over $4 million in 2023. The Garfield County Treasurer oversees a total portfolio, including cash, that fluctuates between $98 and $141 million (the portfolio increases as property tax is collected and distributed during the first half of each year). The County Treasurer works with an Investment Advisory Board that meets quarterly and provides investment strategy advice to the Treasurer.
