Garfield County Human Service mini-grants now available

Garfield County is offering human services mini-grants of up to $5,000 for qualifying 501c3 nonprofits. The amount of funding varies from year to year, and recipients are required to complete an annual grant report and give updates before the Board of County Commissioners. Grant applications are available online at garfield-county.com. The county has mailed applications to previously awarded entities. BOCC approves fourth-quarter discretionary grants
The Garfield County Board of County Commissioners.
Garfield County has announced the recipients of its fourth-quarter Board of County Commissioners discretionary grants. Eight local nonprofits received a combined $30,100 in grants out of $40,800 that was remaining for the year. The Glenwood Springs Downtown Market was awarded $600 toward the cost of Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) funds ($280) used this summer to reimburse vendors that accepted the cards plus Double-Up Bucks. The market also received a separate grant for $3,500 toward winter offerings, including this year’s “A Grand Holiday,” which features live reindeer, Santa Claus, hot chocolate, live music and more on Dec. 10. Garfield County approves additional $5,000 to SBDC
GARFIELD COUNTY, CO – A federal program that helps new and existing businesses grow and flourish is reporting success in Garfield County. A midyear update from the Northwest Colorado Small Business Development Center (SBDC) presented positive impacts on the local business community. This news prompted the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) to grant an additional $5,000 for business development out of its discretionary fund. The BOCC had already granted $5,000 to the organization in January.
