City voters to consider release of downtown Glenwood Springs parking lots by mail ballot
Glenwood Springs, CO – Voters in the April 2 Glenwood Springs municipal election will consider a ballot question to allow the Glenwood Springs City Council to release the city-held portion of two municipal lots. They are currently used for downtown parking at the corner of 7th Street and Colorado Avenue, and adjoin parking lots owned by Garfield County. Voters in Glenwood Springs need to give approval in order for the city to sell or convey its interests, at the regular municipal election, April 2, 2013, conducted by mail ballot. Garfield County elected officials are sworn in
Two newly elected officials joined five incumbent Garfield County officers in taking the oath of office January 11, 2011 before a packed crowd in the Garfield County Administration Building. Garfield County Commissioner Tom Jankovsky and Assessor Jim Yellico are starting new terms of office after winning their seats in the 2010 General Election. Also taking oath were the current Surveyor Scott Aibner, Coroner Trey Holt, Clerk and Recorder Jean Alberico and Sheriff Lou Vallario. Garfield County mails 15,000 ballots since October 12
While many voters will brave uncertain weather to visit polling places November 2, at least 60% of Garfield County registered voters will sit comfortably in their armchairs at home after work or a busy day. That’s because an increasing percentage of the electorate has chosen to vote by mail-in ballot. October 26 is the deadline to request a mail-in ballot to be mailed, and October 29 is the deadline for registered voters to request a mail-in ballot in person.
