Worley turns herself in on arrest warrant
Former Garfield County Sheriff’s Office corporal accused of embezzlement

On January 28, 2025, an arrest warrant was issued for former Garfield County Sheriff’s Office Corporal Trisha Worley by the Ninth Judicial District Attorney’s Office. On January 28, 2025, she turned herself in to the Garfield County Jail and was booked into custody. Her bond was set at $25,000; she was able to bond-out.
In October of 2024, Worley was accused of embezzling funds from the Holy Cross Cattlemen’s Association, a local nonprofit organization. A criminal investigation was referred to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI). That investigation revealed that through numerous transactions beginning in 2018 and continuing through 2024, she is alleged to have stolen funds from both Garfield County and the nonprofit organization totaling over $74,000.
Because of that investigation, she was charged with the following crimes:
- Theft ($5,000-$20,000) as defined by C.R.S. 18-4-401(1) (a) (2) (g) a class 5 felony,
- Theft ($20,000-$100,000) as defined by C.R.S. 18-4-401(1) (a) (2) (h) as class 4 felony,
- Embezzlement of Public Property as defined by C.R.S. 18-8-407(1) (2) a class 5 felony,
- Identity Theft as defined by C.R.S. 15-5-902(1) (a) (2) (a) a class 4 felony,
- First Degree Official Misconduct as defined by C.R.S. 18-8-404(1) (a) (2) a class 1 misdemeanor
Additionally, an internal investigation was completed resulting in her termination on November 7, 2024.
