The Garfield County Landfill near Rifle, 0075 County Road 246A, is hosting a free paint recycling drop-off and giveaway day on Friday, Sept. 20, from 2-6 p.m.
The event, which is organized by PaintCare, is accepting leftover paint and primer, stain, sealers, and clear finishes from households and businesses. Paint in good, usable condition is free to the public.
Aerosol cans; containers larger than five gallons; leaking, unlabeled, or empty canisters; and hazardous materials (paint thinner, motor oil, adhesives, pesticides, etc.) are not accepted.
