Garfield County reports fourth COVID-19 death

PRESS RELEASE
July 14, 2020

As coronavirus cases in Garfield County continue to increase, Garfield County Public Health reports that a fourth person has died from the illness. A man in his late 60’s passed away at home from COVID-19.

“We extend our deepest condolences to the family,” said Public Health Director, Yvonne Long.

As of July 14, a total of 423 coronavirus cases have been reported in the county. The county has averaged over 49 cases a week for the past three weeks. This is a marked increase from May when the county was experiencing approximately eight cases per week.

“We regret having to report yet another life lost to COVID. As a community, we must all take individual actions to slow the spread, otherwise our numbers will continue to climb. Each life lost is one too many,” said Long.
