Garfield County moves to Level Yellow
PRESS RELEASE
April 1, 2021
The state officially moved Garfield County to Level Yellow on the COVID-19 Dial due to a surge in COVID cases with levels similar to July. The number of COVID cases and the cumulative incidence rate have increased over the past two weeks. Multiple days have had an incidence rate 15% over the Level Yellow threshold which is 100 cases or less per 100,000 people.
Garfield County Public Health is concerned about this increase and reminds everyone to get vaccinated, wear masks in public, practice social distancing, practice good hygiene, stay home when sick and get tested if symptoms occur. Public health is available to help partners and businesses that need rule clarification; contact publichealthinfo@garfield-county.com or call 970-625-5200, ext. 8101.
Changes from Level Blue to Level Yellow under Dial 3.0.
Overall, the rules from Level Blue to Level Yellow do not change much for most Garfield County businesses, as social distancing requirements still apply.

5 Star Program update
The 5 Star committee is awaiting further clarification from the state on the future of both the statewide COVID-19 Dial and the 5 Star program. Primarily due to the county’s level on the COVID-19 State Dial, local businesses have opted not to participate in the Garfield County 5 Star program. Under Level Blue, the program didn’t offer much of a benefit. Though awaiting clarification, the program is active and information is available on the Garfield County 5 Star website.
