Prescribed burn set for South Rifle

COMMUNITY NOTICE

If conditions allow, a prescribed burn will take place next week in South Rifle near Rifle Village South. Several years’ worth of tree trimmings, dead trees and other vegetation has been organized into slash piles on the property of the old wastewater plant. Monday or Tuesday morning, January 31 or February 1, these piles will be burned in a controlled manner. Citizens will probably see smoke, but are asked NOT to call 911. Informational signs will also be utilized as a reminder that the burn is occurring.
