Q. What are your hours?
A. The hours of operation are 8 am to 4 pm, Monday through Saturday in the winter, and seven days a week in the summer. Winter hours are observed from October through March.
Q. What do you charge?
A. Garfield County Landfill fees.
Q. Do you have mulch for sale?
A. No. The landfill does not sell any items back to the public.
Q. How much do you charge for septage?
A. The cost is 15 cents/gallon in-county, and 30 cents/gallon out-of-county. Call the landfill to confirm that we are taking septage at that time. Garfield County Landfill fees.
Q. Do I need to have my load covered?
A. Only if material is loose and may blow out.
Q. Where are you located?
A. From the West Rifle exit on I-70, proceed to Highway 6 west, approximately 3.5 miles. From the Rulison exit on I-70, proceed to Highway 6 eastbound approximately 2 miles.
From Highway 6, turn north onto Anvil Points Road (County Road 246). Proceed north on Anvil Points Road for approximately 1 mile. Turn east on first paved road.

Q. Is this landfill in South Canyon? What is its phone number?
A. No, its phone number is 970-945-5375.
Q. Do you take electronic waste such as TVs, computers and parts, cell phones, printers, copiers, etc?
A. Yes. At the landfill, we take e-waste every day we are open. Charges apply for all electronic waste disposals.
We also have an e-waste drop at the Cattle Creek Shop at 7300 Highway 82 on the second Thursday of every month, from 1 pm – 3 pm. See waste recycling for cost.
Q. Do you take oil and paint?
A. All Household Hazardous Waste days have been cancelled due to COVID and budget constraints. We hope to be able to reinstate these programs at a later date. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Q. Do you take refrigerators/freezers?
A. Only if the chlorofluorocarbons/ammonia has been removed and it has a certification decal.
