Overview
Safe and Abundant Nutrition Alliance (SANA)
A new regional coalition has put the community at the forefront of developing solutions to food access. The Safe and Abundant Nutrition Alliance (SANA) is working to expand the local farm-to-food pantry system that provides produce, meat and eggs to local food pantries. Recently awarded $200,000 from the Colorado Health Foundation, the project’s goal is to implement equitable solutions to improve access to healthy foods through community distribution sites in Garfield, western Eagle and Pitkin counties.

Community Strategic Plan
LiveWell Garfield County has developed three main assessments to identify barriers and drivers to healthy eating active living (HEAL) in our community. The initial assessment was a part of the first HEAL Coalition meeting in 2012. Our coalition members listed concerns in the community related to physical activity and food. Once the lists were compiled, participants ranked those issues they felt were most important to their constituents.
