Clerk and Recorder database
Documents dating back to Feb. 21, 1883, are in the Clerk and Recorder database.
This database includes information on all documents, including reception numbers, recording dates, and fees, but not images.

Record a document
Documents such as warranty deeds, deeds of trust, quit claim deeds, subdivision plats, etc., may be recorded as public records. These documents must be submitted at the office of the Clerk and Recorder at the County Courthouse at 109 8th Street, Suite 200, Glenwood Springs, Colorado 81601. On Jan. 1, 2017, Senate Bill 16-115 will bring recording fees to $13 for the first page of up to 8.5″x14″ and $5 for additional pages.
All recorded documents back to 1883 may be viewed at the Clerk & Recorder office at the Garfield County Courthouse in Glenwood Springs, and at the Rifle Administration Building D.
Please include a contact phone number with your documents. All documents recorded are scanned, and the original documents are mailed in approximately one week.
Note: Garfield County is not an abstract county and does not perform searches on recorded documents.

Copy fees
Copies of recorded documents may be obtained by sending a written request, book and page numbers, or reception number, and a check, money order, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or American Express number, for applicable fees. Recorded copies may also be acquired in person at the office in the Garfield County Courthouse in Glenwood Springs.Â

- Any document that transfers title with consideration that exceeds $500 will be assessed a state documentary fee of $.01 per $100. Must be accompanied by a TD-1000.
- Deposited land surveys must be on 24 by 36-inch Mylar, and cost $20 per page.
