Ballots for the 2018 general election are being mailed to active Garfield County voters on Oct. 15. Voters should contact the Garfield County Clerk and Recorder's Office at (970) 384-3700, ext. 1770, if they don't receive their mail ballots by Oct. 22. If voters are away at college, traveling abroad, or living out of state during the election, they need to verify their voter information to ensure they receive their ballots at the correct location.

The official Garfield County final results in the 2018 primary election were reported on July 10, 2018. The county received back 10,271 ballots of 31,211 that were mailed out, or roughly 33 percent.

Duties of the Clerk and Recorder's office
The Clerk & Recorder's office is responsible for voter registration, the conducting of all primary, general, and November coordinated elections, motor vehicle titling and registration, real estate and other recordings, marriage licenses, birth and death records, liquor licenses and recording the proceedings of the Board of County Commissioners.
