Colorado DRIVES (Driver License, Record, Identification and Vehicle Enterprise Solution) is up and running at Garfield County. The new system reduces customer service time, increases transaction speed, provides better county-to-county integration, and offers additional online services.

Motor vehicle staff honored
Mike Dixon, director of Motor Vehicle Services for the Colorado Department of Revenue, and project manager for the newly implemented DRIVES system, stopped by the Garfield County Clerk’s office to present Jackie Harmon and Vicki Bayley with appreciation plaques from the Colorado DRIVES project for their service as county subject matter experts. Harmon and Bayley worked with the DRIVES development team from April 2017 through August 2018, to prepare for the state-wide conversion to the new system. 

Dixon also presented Garfield County Clerk and Recorder Jean Alberico with certificates of appreciation for her dedicated service to the CSTARS committee from January 2007 through August of 2018, as well as her service on the Drives Governance Committee from April 2016 until August of 2018.

courthouse 2018 Primary Election
The official Garfield County final results in the 2018 primary election were reported on July 10, 2018. The county received back 10,271 ballots of 31,211 that were mailed out, or roughly 33 percent.

Earlier images from 1989 to today are available on the county's public computer. You can view micro-fiche from September 12, 1975 to 1988 in our office at the Garfield County Courthouse, in room 200.  We also have records in historical books dating from 1883 to 1975.

Duties of the Clerk and Recorder's office
The Clerk & Recorder's office is responsible for voter registration, the conducting of all primary, general, and November coordinated elections, motor vehicle titling and registration, real estate and other recordings, marriage licenses, birth and death records, liquor licenses and recording the proceedings of the Board of County Commissioners.

Monday-Friday, 8:30 am - 5 pm, excluding holidays.
