Garfield County road restrictionsRoad regulations
Semis and other oversized commercial vehicles are barred from traveling over roads that lead to Cottonwood Pass, and in the Four Mile area near Glenwood Springs. New signage is in place alerting drivers to these restrictions.

Harvey Gap Road excavationHarvey Gap Road repairs complete
Harvey Gap Road is fully open following realignment, reconstruction and repaving of a damaged section of roadway, which collapsed due to water flowing under the roadway subsection last fall. Road and Bridge crews completed the construction in roughly a month.

Garfield County Road and Bridge handles permits for oversize or overweight trucks, for driveways, for utilities and for transportation.

CR 215 damageNew school bus stop signs
School has started, and Garfield County is in the process of updating school bus stop warning signs throughout the county. The goal for the new high-visibility signs is to increase safety and awareness.

District 2-3 facility & administration offices

Garfield County District 2-3 Road and Bridge facility   Garfield County District 1 Road and Bridge facility

This facility houses the foremen and crews from District 2 and District 3, the mechanics, the administrative staff, as well as the director of the Road and Bridge department.

The foreman and crew assigned to District 2 maintain the Rifle/Silt/Parachute area north of the Colorado River or the 200 roads.

The foreman and crew assigned to District 3, maintain the Silt/Rifle/Parachute/Battlement Mesa area south of the Colorado River or the 300 roads.

 


The district foreman and crew assigned to the District 1 facility maintain the county roads in the South Canyon / Glenwood / Carbondale area, or the 100 roads.

The District 1 facility is a satellite shop for Garfield County Road and Bridge, where only equipment and materials are stored. All maintenance performed to the vehicles is done at the District 2-3 facility location.
