GARFIELD COUNTY, Colo. – On Saturday July 13, 2013 the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) once again fielded a team for the Susan G Komen “Race for the Cure”. This National Organization raises money for breast cancer research. Corporal Megan Alstatt has captained a team for the GCSO for the past several years; the willingness of the members of the GCSO to participate in these extracurricular activities outside their normal work assignments is inspiring.

This year’s response was terrific, with over twenty participants representing the GCSO; it was our biggest team ever. As Corporal Alstatt said, “So many of us have someone we love that’s affected by breast cancer that we thought it was a great way to show support.”
