GARFIELD COUNTY, CO – Garfield County is supporting education and our local libraries by urging children and students to sign-up for their library cards. The Board of County Commissioners has proclaimed September “Library Card Sign-Up Month” and students can pick up their cards at their nearest Garfield County library branch.

A new Wonder Woman-themed library card is available this month that provides a discount at some local participating businesses, including many restaurants, during September. The “Libraries are Wonderful” campaign seeks to get more kids engaged with reading and all the wonderful knowledge and enjoyment books provide.

You can sign-up online for your library card at gcpld.org/about-us/library-cards. A list of businesses participating in the promotion is available online.

“Keep those doors open and keep people enjoying their education,” said Commissioner John Martin of the proclamation.
