Colorado Emergency Childcare Collaborative extends childcare to all critical workers

Garfield County families in critical employment can call the Early Childhood Network for assistance enrolling

PRESS RELEASE
April 2, 2020

Colorado will extend a full childcare tuition credit to all critical workers identified in the Colorado State Executive Stay at Home Order. This 100% tuition credit will provide childcare to all critical workers until May 17. The list of critical workers who will be covered by this care is outlined in the order. For current information, please refer to the most recent updates found in the drop-down items on the state order web page.

Childcare through the collaborative is provided by licensed childcare providers across Colorado. It is important for families to note that the supply of care is limited, and if they can utilize other care, or are able to work from home, they should do so. Emergency childcare provided through the collaborative is for when all other care settings have been exhausted and families have no other options.

To help better navigate this process at the local level, Garfield County families in critical employment who need childcare, or licensed childcare programs interested in participating in the collaborative, should contact the Early Childhood Network at (970) 928-7111.

Families needing childcare will be asked to complete a local survey.

***It is critical that once a family is matched with a childcare program that they contact and connect with the childcare program prior to showing up for care.
