July 30 - Mudslide impacts Baxter Pass
Baxter Pass / County Road 201 is closed approximately five miles from the Garfield County / Mesa county line, on the Mack side, due to a mudslide. The road is impassable in the area. A Garfield County contractor began word Friday to clear the rocks and debris, and expects to have the road passable again early in the week. photos-|
August 1 - The large truck and RV parking lot at the Bair Ranch rest area at mile post 129 in Glenwood Canyon will be closed from August 1 - October 31. closure-|
Beginning in late 2014 or early 2015, a new bus service along the I-70 corridor will provide transportation between Glenwood Springs and Denver. The Colorado Dept. of Transportation will operate one round trip per weekday.
Gardeners, farmers, and producers may donate whole, unprocessed produce to LIFT-UP and the senior nutrition program through LiveWell Garfield County. Produce offers nutrition to those affected by poverty and seniors.
