Health Benefits
Health benefits include: medical, dental, vision and prescription drug coverage for employees and dependents. These are available to employees working 30 or more hours per week.
Life Insurance
This plan provides a $30,000 term life insurance and AD&D benefit for employees.
Voluntary Life Insurance
Employees are given the opportunity to purchase additional life insurance. Life insurance may also be purchased for dependents.
Major Sick Leave (MSL)
Full time employees accrue 8 hours of MSL per month (12 days per year). Part time employees working 20 or more hours per week accrue MSL on a pro-rated basis. All accrued MSL must be used before STD benefits can begin.
Short and Long Term Disability
After a waiting period is satisfied and MSL and PDO are exhausted (14 days STD, 180 days LTD) benefits are paid at up to 60% of employee's pre-disability earnings.
Retirement Plan
401a - Employees with less than 10 years of services contribute 5% of their gross earnings pre-tax and the County matches this amount.
457b - Individuals can make additional after tax voluntary retirement or pre-tax deferred compensation contributions; these are not matched.
Employee Assistance Plan (EAP)
The EAP is a confidential service for employees and family members. The EAP offers counseling and educational services on a wide variety of topics.
Holidays
The County typically observes 10 holidays. These are generally traditional holidays recognized by public sector employees.
Personal Days off (PDO)
Full time employees accrue 8.66 hours of PDO per month (13 days per year) during the first two years of employment. Part time employees working 20 or more hours per week accrue PDO on a pro-rated basis.
Direct Deposit
The County offers direct deposit for those who wish to participate.
Employees are paid on the last working day of each month.
Training
The Human Resources Department schedules training on a regular basis and employees are encouraged to attend.
