Medical marijuana public hearings
Medical marijuana

The Board of County Commissioners has scheduled a work session on the draft land use regulations and local licensing requirements for an Optional Premises Cultivation Operation (OPCO) for medical marijuana in unincorporated Garfield County. This work session is intended to discuss a potential set of land use regulations and local licensing requirements and public comment is encouraged.

The Garfield County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on the matter on May 9, 2012 at 6:30 pm in the Garfield County Administration Building at 108 8th Street in Glenwood Springs, CO.

The Board of County Commissioners will hold a public hearing on the matter on June 4, 2012, at 1:00 pm in the Garfield County Administration Building at 108 8th Street in Glenwood Springs, CO.

Targeted code revision to the Unified Land Use Code of 2008 (ULUR)

A 2011 directive of the Garfield County Board of County Commission (BOCC) was to review the Unified Land Use Resolution of 2008, As Amended, (ULUR), and revise the code in order to:

Eliminate unnecessary regulatory barriers that may discourage economic development;

Streamline development procedures;

Make the overall code more efficient; and

Ensure the document is user-friendly.
