Garfield County Public Health is working with CDPHE to investigate a recent case of hantavirus in western Garfield County. Last year, a Silt resident also contracted hantavirus, and the mortality rate is nearly 40 percent.
Garfield County Public Health is hosting a free radon mitigation class at the Glenwood Middle School, Thursday, June 4, from 5:30-7:30 pm. Home mitigation process, example tour, and dinner are included.
The Rifle Senior Center hosted the Senior Volunteer Appreciation Banquet on Saturday, May 16. The 2015 Friends of the Seniors award winners are Bobbie Dugan, Mary Jane Hangs, and Bob Spuhler.
Memorial Day closure
Garfield County offices will be closed Monday, May 25, for Memorial Day. Staff functions serving the community in emergency or 24-hour capacities will remain in operation, however, administrative offices will close.
