Westbound I-70 Twin Tunnels - Rock scaling is nearly complete to create safe access above both ends of the westbound tunnel for the heavy equipment and personnel conducting rock face blasts.

County Road 215 - Parachute Creek Road damage
A several hundred foot section of road has heaved approximately four feet upward on Garfield County Road 215 - Parachute Creek Road. The road is closed, however there is a one lane bypass in the dirt on the shoulder. press release-|
New deputy county manager
A new deputy county manager begins serving Garfield County April 25. Kevin Batchelder has 24 years of experience in public administration both metropolitan and rural, and will relocate from Silverthorne.
Garfield County will host a presentation on the use of historic routes and rights-of-way on public lands May 1. County Attorney Frank Hutfless has proposed a federal act for settling right-of-way claims.
Bak, Falcos and Cio of the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office will receive bullet and stab protective vests from Vested Interest in K9s, Inc., which will equip law enforcement dogs with ballistic vests in nine states.
