Purpose of Project
Facilitate the advancement of the tobacco control movement in Garfield County.
Educate and train community partners about prevention and cessation programs and policies.
Programs and services are based on nationally accepted, evidence-based best practices. The project works in collaboration with the State Tobacco Education Prevention Partnership of the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and the Centers for Disease Control.
Project Goals
Prevent youth from starting to use tobacco
Help people who use tobacco to quit
Assist in the reduction of and protection from secondhand smoke
Reduce tobacco use among groups that have higher tobacco use rates than the general population
